History of Dolmans Solicitors

APO&JH.jpg

We can trace our roots back to 1812 when Edward Dolman set up a practice in Clifford's Inn. Our presence in South Wales dates from 1893 when Cardiff and its hinterland were enjoying prosperity from the coal and steel industries.

Our reputation was enhanced by Eric Dolman, who became Lord Mayor of Cardiff in 1967, and by Arthur Dolman, who was Mayor of Newport and a founder of Newport's Dolman Theatre. Until 1970, the practice had offices in Cardiff, Newport and Bristol, but these offices then separated, with only the Cardiff practice continuing to operate as Dolmans.

In February 2011, Dolmans relocated from its Windsor Place location, from where it had traded for over 30 years, to a location at One Kingsway and more recently, in June 2018, the practice moved ‘over the road’ to its current location at Capital Tower, Greyfriars Road in the centre of Cardiff.
